Carice van Houten played the role of “Melisandre” in the web series “Game of Thrones”. Melisandre is first introduced during a beachside ceremony on Dragonstone, where she burns the statues of the Faith of the Seven, drawing the ire of Stannis’ maester Cressen.
A Red Priestess from Asshai, Melisandre worships the Lord of Light. She believes her visions will lead her to the true king of Westeros.
